About us

Care should never require a child to trade authenticity for support.

Contextual Behavior Services was created to offer families a more thoughtful, collaborative, and affirming approach to behavioral care.

Meet the founder

Kasey Islam, BCBA, LBA

Kasey Islam is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Licensed Behavior Analyst, autistic adult, and mom to an autistic child with ADHD. Her perspective is shaped by both clinical training and lived experience navigating systems that do not always understand neurodivergent communication, sensory needs, or autonomy.

As both a clinician and a parent, Kasey understands how personal it can feel to invite a provider into a family's life. She believes families deserve care that listens before judging, respects the knowledge parents already hold, and sees the whole child rather than a list of behaviors.

Kasey created Contextual Behavior Services to bring behavioral science and humanity together. Her work centers communication, assent, regulation, meaningful independence, and goals that reflect what truly matters to each child and family.

“I don't believe support should ask children to become less themselves. It should help them communicate, participate, and build a life that works for who they are.”

Our commitments

What affirming care looks like here.

01

Listen to communication

Behavior, speech, movement, AAC, refusal, and silence can all communicate something important.

02

Protect assent

We continually look for willingness and respond when a child communicates that they need to pause or stop.

03

Choose meaningful goals

Goals should improve everyday life—not simply make a child appear more typical.

04

Collaborate with families

Families bring essential knowledge, priorities, culture, and lived experience to every decision.

Direct BCBA care

Professional expertise with fewer layers.

Working directly with a BCBA supports consistent communication, responsive decision-making, and services that can adapt as your family's needs change.
